Cheer’s To A New Year: Winter Cocktail  

Winter is here and what better way to celebrate a new decade then with winter cocktails! I am bringing you my top ten favorite winter cocktails to serve for your New Year festivities this winter.

Red Wine Hot Chocolate

14 servings

Ingredients

Slow Cooker (stove will work in a pot just be cautious on heat)

1 bottle of red wine

8 cups of whole milk

1 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk

1 12oz package of dark chocolate chips

1 teaspoon of nutmeg

4 cinnamon sticks

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in the slow cooker
  2. Cook one hour on high or until chocolate is melted and mixture is heated all the way through stirring every 15 minutes
  3. Reduce heat to slow and serve fright from slow cooker

 

Christmas Martini

1 Serving

Ingredients

Martini Glass

Cocktail Mixer

25ml Cointreau

25ml amaretto

15ml vodka

50ml cranberry juice sugar

1 orange peel (decorative)

1 lemon

Directions

  1. Cut a lemon wedge and run it around the rim of the martini glass
  2. Pour sugar onto a plate and dip the lemon edge of the glass into the sugar
  3. In a cocktail mixer, add the Cointreau, amaretto and vodka followed by the cranberry juice and a handful of ice
  4. Shake for 20 seconds and then pour into the glass
  5. Add the orange peel for decoration

 

S’mores Kahlua Please

1 Serving

Ingredients

Cocktail Glass

Cocktail Mixer

3oz of Coconut Milk

1.5oz of vodka

1.5oz of Kahlua

½ teaspoon coco powder

2 dashes of embitterment chocolate bitters

rim chocolate graham crackers

garnish roasted marshmallow

Directions

  1. In a small dish mix a dash of Kahlua and cocoa powder to create a thick chocolate liquid
  2. In a different dish crush the graham crackers
  3. Dip the cocktail glass lips in the liquid mixture and then dip in the crushed graham crackers
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients into the cocktail shaker with ice
  5. Shake for 20 seconds then pour the mixture into the glass
  6. Top with coconut milk
  7. Place a marshmallow on a piece of tinfoil and place it in the oven on broil for 30 seconds
  8. Remove and let cool
  9. Add the marshmallow into the cocktail, brown side up

 

Cranberry Moscow Mule

1 Serving

Ingredients

Copper Moscow Mule Cup

Cocktail Shaker

4oz Ginger Beer

4oz Cranberry Juice Cocktail

2oz Dark Rum or Vodka

1 lime, cut in half

Crushed Ice Cubes

Fresh or Frozen Cranberries

Directions

  1. Put crushed ice into the copper mug
  2. Add ginger beer, cranberry juice, rum and the juice of a squeezed ½ lime in a cocktail shaker filled with ice
  3. Shake well for 20 seconds and then pour into the mug
  4. Top with cranberries and a lime wheel

 

Salted Caramel Martini

1 Serving

Ingredients

Martini Glass

Cocktail Shaker

2oz Caramel Vodka

2oz Rum Chata

Caramel Syrup

Coarse Salt

Directions

  1. Put the coarse salt on a plate
  2. Rim the martini glass with the caramel syrup and dip in the coarse salt
  3. Drizzle caramel sauce inside the martini glass
  4. Add vodka, rumchata and ice into the shaker
  5. Pour mixture into the martini glass

 

Peppermint White Russian

1 Serving

Ingredients

Cocktail Glass

Cocktail Shaker

3/4oz Kahlua

3/4oz Vodka

3/4oz Peppermint Schnapps

3/4oz half and half (or almond milk for those dairy free like me!)

Candy Cane Crushed

Clean Corn Syrup

Directions

  1. Place a few ice cubes in a cocktail glass
  2. Rim the glass with Clean Corn Syrup and dip into a plate of crushed candy canes
  3. Pour Kahlua, Vodka and peppermint Schnapps into a shaker with crushed ice
  4. Pour into martini glass and top with milk

 

Bailey’s Boozy Hot Chocolate

1 Serving

Ingredients

1 Packet of Hot Cocoa Mix (and water to make)

2oz Bailey’s Irish Cream

Whip Cream

Marshmallows

Hershey’s Chocolate Sauce

Directions

  1. Make the hot chocolate in a mug with water
  2. Once hot stir in the Bailey’s Irish Cream
  3. Put marshmallows into the mixture to melt
  4. Add whip cream on top
  5. Add chocolate sauce on top of the whip cream

 

Hot Fireball Apple Cider

1 Serving

Ingredients

Mug

Spoon

1 Cinnamon Stick

1 cup of Apple Cider, Hot

2oz of fireball whiskey

Directions

  1. Place apple cider in a mug and heat up for about 1 minutes or as needed
  2. Pour in the fireball whiskey and mix with a spoon
  3. Add a cinnamon stick in for flavor

 

Warm Winter Sangria

14 Servings

Ingredients

Crockpot

Mug

1.5L Merlot

1 Large Orange

1.5 Cups Fresh Cranberries

2 Cinnamon Sticks

10 Whole Cloves

1 Cup Cranberry Juice

4 Packets of Sweet ‘N Low

Directions

  1. Pour the wine and cranberry juice into the crockpot
  2. Slice the orange and add it into the pot
  3. Add cranberries, cinnamon sticks, cloves and Sweet ‘N Low
  4. Stir well and add the cloves in
  5. Cook on high for 2-3 hours and then turn it down to warm
  6. Feel free to keep it on the warm setting if you are serving for a party or dinner
  7. If you are enjoying it right away you can turn it off right away

 

Chocolate Peppermint Martini

1 Serving

Ingredients

Martini Glass

Cocktail Mixer

1.5oz Chocolate Liquor or Crème De Cocoa

1.5oz of Peppermint Vodka

2.5oz Light Cream or Almond Milk for those who are dairy free

.5oz Chocolate Syrup

.5 brick chocolate bark

1 candy cane smashed

Directions

  1. Crush the candy cane into fine pieces and put on a plate
  2. Place the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds
  3. Stir then reheat for another 30 seconds
  4. Dip your martini glass into the melted chocolate then immediately dip into the crushed candy cane
  5. In a cocktail shaker fill with crushed ice, chocolate liquor, cream, peppermint vodka, cocoa powder and chocolate syrup
  6. Shake for about 20 seconds to create a holiday flavor
  7. Pour the cocktail into your martini glass
  8. If you want to add whip cream on top with chocolate shavings for a holiday feel do so!
