If you love fashion as much as I do and have not seen the movie, A Simple Favor, then you should stop whatever it is you are doing and put it on right now! Blake Lively’s outfits have taken men’s trends, classics, designers and fashion to a whole new level of style. Costume Designer, Renee Ehrlich Kalfus, who won a Guild Award in 2017, has illuminated Blake’s style in this comedic thriller.
Blake’s character, Emily Nelson, shows how when a woman wears clothing inspired by men’s suiting she can look and feel just as powerful as men think they do! Renee and Blake were inspired by their Producer, Paul Feig’s three piece suiting that he would wear on set every day. Blake had the chance to wear amazing vintage archives by Ralph Lauren and of course Christian Louboutin.
I was so inspired by these chic, trendy, and classic #GIRLBOSS styles that I designed my own photoshoot replicating these amazing looks that Blake and Renee brought together in this film. They may not be Ralph Lauren + Christian Louboutin, but I wore some classic styles by Rachel Zoe, Shoshanna, and Zadig & Voltaire. I even had fun designing the cover of this blog in the white pin stripe suit ensemble that Blake Lively wore for advertising her latest film. We already know that Blake obviously wore it best, but take a look below to see my A Simple Favor Inspired Fashion Shoot!
“I never think about how other people will respond to the way I dress. Dressing up is all about reflecting how I feel.” –Blake Lively American Actress
