Trend Report: How to Grocery Shop During Quarantine

Welcome to my newest section of the blog, The Trend Report, which is where I will give you all of my How To’s, especially during quarantine! The first how to I want to share with all of you is How to grocery shop during quarantine. I have had so many of my amazing followers looking for that trendy grocery shopping list, so here it is broken down into three categories: The Necessities, Trader Joes + The Extras.

The Necessities

When I say necessities, think about what is priority right now? This would include your produce, proteins, dairy products, grains/bread and canned goods.

Produce

  1. Lettuce (spinach and romaine are my go to’s)
  2. Salad Bowls (some grocery stores have pre-made salad bowls)
  3. Baby Carrots + Hummus
  4. Cucumbers
  5. Lemons + Limes
  6. Berries
  7. Tangerines (a good way to keep your immune system up)
  8. Avocados
  9. Onions
  10. Peppers
  11. Bananas
  12. Apples
  13. Frozen Vegetables are a good idea as back up!

Proteins (remember you can freeze all of this and use it as needed)

  1. Chicken
  2. Ground Beef, Chicken or Turkey
  3. Tofu
  4. Vegetable Burgers
  5. Beef or Turkey Burgers
  6. Salmon
  7. Tilapia
  8. Crab Meat
  9. Lox
  10. Steak
  11. Lunch Meat (salami, turkey, buffalo chicken, ham)

Dairy Products

  1. Eggs
  2. Yogurt or drinkable Yogurt (I prefer siggis)
  3. Feta (great for a salad)
  4. Deli Cheese
  5. Shredded Mozzarella (great for a chicken or eggplant parm night)
  6. Shredded Colby Jack (great for a salad, taco night or an omelet)
  7. Milk or Almond Milk
  8. Cottage Cheese

Grains + Bread

  1. Whole Wheat Bread Loaf
  2. English Muffins (you can freeze these and use them later)
  3. Wraps (you can refrigerate these to keep them fresh)
  4. Couscous
  5. Quinoa
  6. Brown Rice

Canned Goods

  1. Tuna
  2. Chicken
  3. Beans
  4. Tomatoes
  5. Corn
  6. Green Beans

Trader Joes Favorites

TJ’s is by far the best place to get frozen packaged food that is super easy to make. My husband and I have a few favorites that I want to share with you to make your next TJ trip an easy one!

Frozen

  1. Coconut Shrimp
  2. Eggplant Sliders
  3. Shrimp Stir Fry
  4. Orange Chicken
  5. Vegetable or Shrimp Dumplings
  6. Beef Steak Burriots
  7. Pizza Bites
  8. Chicken + Mushroom Pelmeni
  9. Gnocci
  10. Vegetable Burriots
  11. Birdsnest
  12. Edaname

Not Frozen

  1. Chocolate Hummus
  2. Lime Tortilla Chips
  3. Handmade Flour Tortillas
  4. Taco Dip premade
  5. Produce is always fresh!

The Extras

I know it is hard not to snack while being stuck on quarantine, but try to only put your money towards the necessities and grab a few easy snack items.

  1. Pretzels
  2. Microwaveable Popcorn
  3. Wheat Thins or other crackers
  4. Peanut Butter
  5. Jelly
  6. Any Marinades, Salad Dressings, or Condiments
  7. Chips (I prefer baked lays as a light snack)
  8. Tortilla Chips with Salsa + Guacamole
  9. Ice Cream treat
  10. Cookies
  11. Shaved Almonds
  12. Coconut Pieces
  13. Granola
  14. Cereal
  15. Oat Meal
  16. Grits
  17. That’s it Bars
  18. Cliff Bars
  19. Healthade Kombucha
  20. WINE….lots and lots of WINE!
