If you are traveling to New York City and looking for a really cool hotel with an awesome view overlooking Times Square then I have the perfect place for you and your family or friends to stay! On the other hand, if you are a native New Yorker and looking for a really awesome lounge for dinner and drinks then this place is also for you!

Located on the south west corner of 52nd street and Broadway the Novotel has a beautiful experience just waiting when you arrive. When you enter the Novotel at street level it has a faux mini lobby where you can of course get a cart to load your suit cases. It has a beautiful blue lit up vibe making you feel like you just entered Times Square! When you enter the elevator, it takes you to the real lobby which has a purple light-up look. This trendy hotel enters to a beautiful lounge area connected to the neon lights bar and restaurant.

My husband and I had the opportunity to test out a few of their cocktails and appetizers when we went with a photographer to do a photoshoot this past month. We sat around the beautiful bar that has a very large deck that overlooks Times Square. As you can imagine, the view is beautiful since the hotel is located at the top of Times Square. Even though it was freezing we of course went outside to take in the view; well, I went outside and took pictures while my husband enjoyed his cocktails inside! (Definitely a great summer drinks deck.)
After shooting a few different trendy looks at the hotel, we sat down at the Supernova, which is the name of the bar, lounge, terrace and restaurant off the lobby level. The first signature cocktail that I tasted, which is their most ordered drink as well, is called the Planet Clair. This drink is finlandia grapefruit with reposado tequila, agave, lime and cranberry juice shaken over a giant blue ice ball! It tasted like a mix of a margarita and a cosmopolitan over a blue Gatorade ice ball that nicely melted into the drink. The fact that this drink was pink is why I personally needed to taste it!
My husband loves whiskey, so he really enjoyed their classic Manhattan, which was made with templeton rye whiskey, carrano vermouth and cherry bitters. Not exactly my cup of tea, if you know what I mean, but the bar tender did make a really smooth extra dirty martini as well.

Let’s talk food now! My husband, Lee, loved the chili chicken bites appetizer. It had a spicy chili sauce tossed with red tobiko roe. If you love chicken, then this appetizer is definitely for you! On the other hand, for this pescatarian, the lobster rolls were unbelievable. The lobster was sweet, sautéed in chive butter and meyer lemon and served on a potato bun that was cut in half, grilled and sandwiched with the lobster! My mouth was flooding with flavor and my belly was certainly happy. Needless to say, we will definitely be going back to the lounge for dinner and drinks very soon.
